On 2nd June 2022, Ramón y Cajal Abogados will participate in the conference "Digital markets and private antitrust enforcement: Are there any chances?"

The University of Deusto, the University of the Basque Country and the University of Valladolid are organizing on 2nd June 2022 a conference entitled "Digital markets and private antitrust enforcement: Are there any chances?".

The panels will address the main challenges and developments in Europe in the field of damages claims for breaches of competition law, focusing on private actions against practices in digital markets.

Speakers will include judges, representatives of competition authorities, professors and lawyers from Spain and other European countries.

Our partner Pedro Suárez will participate as moderator in the panel "Access to justice for consumers, recent developments in Europe, United Kingdom, Germany, Netherlands, France", while our principal associate Javier Pérez will be a speaker in the panel "Estimation and quantifications of the harm: recommendations versus reality". Other members of the association The European Circle for Competition Damages, of which Pedro Suárez and Javier Pérez are members, will also take part, such as Ben Lasserson (Mishcon de Reya), Miguel Sousa Ferro (Milberg Sousa Ferro/U. Lisboa), Simone Gambutto (Nunziante Magrone), Julia Suderow (U. The conference will be held in a hybrid format: in person (at the University of Deusto) and online.
