Experience

Fernando Manzanedo has been a partner of the litigation, insolvency and arbitration practices of the firm since 2017.

He is a Government Lawyer on leave of absence. He has extensive experience in civil, contentious-administrative and criminal proceedings. He also attends a variation of Arbitration Courts (CCI, CIMA, Spanish Court of Arbitration, Court of Arbitration of Madrid, etc.).

From 2012 to 2017 he held the position of Corporate Director of the legal department of Bankia, where he was responsible for the group’s general legal advisory service, including its representation and defence in litigation. He was also responsible for the legal advice of Bankia's shareholdings, holding the position of Director of Iberia and of the insurance company Aseval (absorbed by Mapfre Vida).

From 2006 to 2010, he was the General Secretary and member of the Board of Aldesa, a construction group dedicated to the development of civil works and building infrastructure, with interests in the industrial sector and investment activities: renewable energies, real estate and concessions.

As Government Lawyer, he was assigned to the National Court, he held the offices of Chief Government Lawyer at the Spanish Interior Ministry (1996- 2000), and in the Burgos and Soria Government Law Offices. He has been Technical General Secretary of the Spanish Ministry of Science and Technology (2000-2002) and the Spanish Interior Ministry (2002-2004) and advisor in different companies such as Enresa, Cedeti and Siep.

Teaching

He has also given various courses on government organization, procedure and procurement, contentious-administrative proceedings and immigration, etc., organised by the Spanish Ministry of Justice, the Spanish Interior Ministry and the Spanish Ministry of Public Administrations (1994-2000).
